Rumor: Samsung Galaxy S9 To Cost More Than $1100 In Norway

Past reports have claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will be considerably more expensive than their predecessors, and now a new rumor surfaced revealing some more info when it comes to pricing of Samsung’s upcoming flagship phones. This new info comes from Roland Quandt, a well-known tipster, as it seems like he just revealed the Galaxy S9’s and Galaxy S9 Plus’ price points for the Norwegian market, read on.

If the source is to be believed, the 64GB storage variant of the Galaxy S9 will cost 8,790 NOK in Norway, while the 64GB storage model of the Galaxy S9 Plus will set you back 9,790 NOK in the country. If we transfer that to dollars, you’ll get $1,131 and $1,259 price points, which, needless to say, seem to be incredibly high. It is worth noting that the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus were not exactly cheap in Norway either, but they were 1,200 NOK ($154) and 1,300 NOK ($167) more affordable, respectively, than the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, at least if the provided info is accurate, of course. It is worth noting that the two devices will probably be a bit more affordable in the rest of Europe, as Norway has a considerably higher standard than most other European countries, and smartphones are usually quite pricey over there. Now, the source now only shared price points of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, but also the color options that the two devices will launch in. If Mr. Quandt’s info is accurate, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will launch in Midnight Black, Coral Blue and LIlac Purple color variants in the country.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will be announced on February 25 in Barcelona, as part of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018. Considering how many leaks and rumors we’ve seen thus far, we have a pretty good idea as to what expect from Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphones. The two devices will resemble their predecessors quite a bit, both will be made out of metal, sports curved display, and thin bezels. The Galaxy S9 is expected to sport a single camera on the back, and 4GB of RAM, while the Galaxy S9 Plus will probably ship with a dual camera setup, and 6GB of RAM. Samsung’s Exynos 9810 SoC will fuel the two phones in Europe, while the Snapdragon 845 will do the same for the US models.
