Google's storage plans are getting cheaper.
The company has launched a new storage plan called Google One, which offers significantly better deals than Google Drive storage plans. There's no need to switch, because all current Drive storage plans will get upgraded and rebranded to Google One.
Google One offers 100GB of storage for $1.99, 200GB for $2.99, and 2TB for $9.99 per month. That last option is a significant upgrade, since you currently only get 1TB for the price on Google Drive. The pricing for options larger than 2TB stays the same, and you'll still get 15GB of storage without paying a dime.
Google One also has an option to share your plan with up to five family members.
Better pricing for online storage is not the only benefit of Google One. The service also comes with access to Google's experts via live chat, as well as extras on other Google products, including credits on Google Play or deals on hotels through Google Search.
Google says everyone with a paid Drive storage plan will automatically get upgraded to Google One "over the coming months," first in the U.S. and then globally. If you're eager to know when Google One will become available in your country, you can sign for updates here.
