If you're still on the fence about the Nintendo Switch, tomorrow may be a good time to make the leap---if, that is, you're also a Fortnite: Battle Royale fan.
The new Nintendo Switch Fortnite Double Helix Bundle goes live this Friday. For the standard $299.99 you pay for any other Switch you get a bunch of in-game goodies for the free-to-play battle royale title.
While it may seem a little weird to bundle a free-to-play game with a console, you do get $45 worth of optional cosmetic content including some cosmetics that you won't be able to get anywhere else. That makes them extra rare, something the Fortnite collector's community definitely prizes.
Here's what comes with the bundle:
- 1 unique Double Helix Outfit
- 1 unique Telemetry Back Bling
- 1 unique Pinpoint Pickaxe
- 1 unique Rotor Glider
- 1,000 V-Bucks
1,000 V-Bucks is enough to buy the Season 6 Battle Pass which comes with its own share of skins, emotes and other cosmetics, as well as weekly challenges.
Let's take a look at the Nintendo Switch exclusive cosmetics:

So that's pretty cool. Not my favorite skin and certainly not the most original, but if you're looking for something most players won't have this is definitely one way to get it. If you also happen to need or want a Nintendo Switch, you could do worse. Then again, $300 is a pretty big ask if you're only after a handful of cosmetic items. On the other hand, that will almost certainly make them exceedingly rare.
What do you think? Will you be picking one of these up or is a console bundled with a free-to-play game not worth it to you?
