OnePlus has decided to discount the OnePlus 6, as part of Black Friday sales. The company has decided to shave off $100 from the OnePlus 6’s price tag, and the device is already available for purchase (link include below the article). It seems like this discount is valid only in the US, as the phone is still listed as “Out of stock” in Europe (at least several countries that we’ve checked), and the price tag is still intact. In any case, those of you who live in the US can now get $100 off all OnePlus 6 variants, and that includes Mirror Black, Midnight Black, Silk White, and Red variants of the phone, and applies for both 6GB and 8GB RAM variants of the device. The cheapest model of the OnePlus 6 that you can purchase at the moment is the 6GB RAM variant with 64GB of storage, and only the Mirror Black unit is available with that setup. If you’d like to get it, you’ll need to part with $429. The Silk White, Red, and Midnight Black models with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage are priced at $479, while the Midnight Black unit with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage can be purchased for $529. All of those models are currently in stock, at the time of writing this article, so if you’re planning to buy any of them, it may be best to do it now.
Now, the company has also announced that some additional offers will be available starting on November 23, as the company will offer two Black Friday bundles to its consumers. In the first bundle, the company will offer a fast charge adapter and a 100cm cable with every Midnight Black and Mirror Black OnePlus 6T unit with 128GB of storage. The second Black Friday bundle will include a fast car charger with every Midnight Black and Mirror Black OnePlus 6T with 256GB of storage. Those limited edition bundles will be available via the company’s official website to both North American and European consumers, while supplies last.
Background: The OnePlus 6 was announced mid-year, while the OnePlus 6T arrived earlier this month. The two devices are quite similar, and both are fueled by Qualcomm’s flagship processor, the Snapdragon 845. The OnePlus 6 features a 6.28-inch Optic AMOLED display, which is a bit smaller than the unit on the OnePlus 6T, but we’re looking at the same tech here, those are basically the same displays. The OnePlus 6 sports a 3,300mAh battery on the inside, while the phone does ship with Android Oreo, but it received the Android 9 Pie update already. The OnePlus 6 has really thin bezels, and it’s the company’s best-selling smartphone to date.
Impact: The OnePlus 6 may not be the latest smartphone OnePlus released, but it sure is on the same level as the OnePlus 6T. The OnePlus 6 actually comes with the same processor, same camera sensors, same RAM, same display (different size), and so on… so it’s definitely still a good option. The OnePlus 6 is made out of metal and glass, just like the OnePlus 6T, and even though its notch is larger, you’re getting an LED notification light which is not available on the OnePlus 6T. On top of that, the OnePlus 6 has a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is something the OnePlus 6T lacks as well, not to mention that the phone’s capacitive fingerprint scanner is faster than the OnePlus 6T’s in-display one, and more convenient as well. On top of everything, the OnePlus 6 already received the OnePlus 6T’s camera features, and even its new navigation gestures. All in all, the OnePlus 6 is still a really good option, and it’s not considerably more affordable than the OnePlus 6T.
