Marshmello confirms voice was broadcast in real-time during Fortnite concert - FortniteINTEL

After Epic Games and Marshmello teamed up to amaze Fortnite fans with a live in-game concert, the artist confirmed that his voice was being broadcast live.

Since the event premiered, fans have debated whether Marshmello’s voice during the show was live broadcasted or pre-recorded. Fortunately, the artist put the debate to rest.

During a livestream, Fortnite streamer CouRageJD asked Marshmello if his voice was pre-recorded for the set. To CouRage’s surprise, ‘Mello confirmed that it was being broadcast in real-time.

That was all live, man!

That was the whole thing, so you know, in the very early workings of it all we weren’t sure what could be handled as far as bandwidth, live voice, and live everything.

But they took their time and figured it all out and when it was time to go they had it all sorted.

Stuff like that is what makes it next level.

This comes as a surprise to many to see just what kind of technology the team at Epic Games is capable of implementing. Large-scale, synchronous, in-game events aside; Epic Games continues to flex their abilities with the Unreal Engine.

For fans that unfortunately missed the premiere, worry not! Marshmello will be performing an encore at 2AM Eastern Time on Sunday, February 3rd, 2019.

The encore performance is expected to be a repeat of the original, as opposed to an entirely new set. Because of this, Marshmello’s voice likely will not be broadcast in real-time during the encore.
