A hands-on video of a Samsung Galaxy Fold has been uploaded to YouTube. The clip in question is actually focused on unlocking the smartphone; however, the thing that is immediately apparent is how noticeable the crease down the middle of the device is. The Galaxy Fold will be officially launched on April 26.

Samsung has been cagey with letting people get a proper good look at the upcoming Galaxy Fold smartphone. It has either stayed in an executive’s tight grasp or been placed safely under glass, out of the way of eager consumers who just want to open it and close it repeatedly. But the South Korean manufacturer has stated that the Galaxy Fold can handle being unfolded and folded over 200,000 times without wear and tear, so there should be nothing to be concerned about.

However, in a hands-on video recently posted on YouTube by a phone unlocker, the Samsung Galaxy Fold looks less than seamless. Within the first few seconds of the clip an obvious crease can be seen running down the center of the unfolded display. Of course, there’s no knowing how old the device is, if it is a prototype or not, and how many times it has already been opened and closed. But there will be plenty of potential customers put off by the sight of an unseemly seam.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold in the video, which has the model number F900U and is from AT&T, is undoubtedly appealing in many ways. The folding mechanism seems to work just as you would expect it to, and switching from the interior display to the cover display looks smooth and unproblematic. But there has already been a report suggesting the Galaxy Fold’s display becomes visibly creased after 10,000 folds, which is a long way off Samsung’s claim of 200,000.
