Since the iPhone X launch, more than 20 million people have spent over $1,000 to buy Apple’s most expensive smartphone. And just a few months after the iPhone X came Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. The iPhone X owners who have emptied their pockets to buy the notched iPhone would refuse to believe this, but the Galaxy S9 Plus is superior to the iPhone X in every possible way. There is a good chance that most iPhone X customers are feeling buyer’s remorse by now.

They could simply have waited for a few months to see what Samsung had in store before making a purchase decision. No doubt the iPhone X is a great phone with incredible performance and innovative features. It’s just that the Galaxy S9 Plus is way better than the iPhone X. Samsung’s latest phone has the same design as the Galaxy S8 Plus, but it’s the most beautifully designed smartphone you can find in the market right now.

Samsung has further reduced the top and bottom bezels on the S9 Plus compared to its predecessor, which gives it a more elegant look. One major problem with the Galaxy S8 Plus was the location of the fingerprint reader. Samsung has relocated the fingerprint sensor to below the camera module on S9 Plus. A large number of smartphone users still prefer the physical fingerprint reader, something the iPhone X lacks.

The Galaxy S9 Plus retains the 3.5mm headphone jack, which you won’t find the iPhone X. It also has a microSD card slot to let you expand memory. You can buy the 64GB Galaxy S9 Plus for $840 and get a 200GB microSD card for as little as $70 to enjoy additional storage. The iPhone X doesn’t include a microSD card slot, so you’ll have to shell out a staggering $1,149 for the 256GB model.

The S9 Plus has the world’s best smartphone display, even better than the iPhone X, according to DisplayMate. Samsung’s flagship phone has a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display compared to the iPhone X’s 5.8-inch screen. The larger screen space is really helpful when running two apps side-by-side, watching movies, or browsing the web. More importantly, the S9 Plus doesn’t have the ugly notch that crops content and hurts the user experience. Samsung’s phone also has dual stereo speakers, one at the top and another at the bottom.

The iPhone X still has an edge when it comes to security. Its Face ID facial recognition system uses 3D depth mapping to recognize users. The Galaxy S9 Plus comes with an Intelligent Scan feature that combines data from the iris scanner and the 2D facial recognition to unlock the device. It’s better than Galaxy S8’s face detection technology, but it still cannot match Apple’s Face ID. Thankfully, the S9 Plus has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for added security.

One of the biggest reasons the existing iPhone X owners might regret their decision to have already purchased the iPhone X is the S9 Plus’s camera. Samsung has “reimagined” the camera with its latest flagship. The Galaxy S9 Plus has a 12-megapixel wide-angle and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens placed vertically on the back, similar to the iPhone X. But the wide-angle lens on the Galaxy S9 Plus has dual apertures of f/1.5 and f/2.4.

The main camera switches between the two apertures automatically depending on the lighting conditions. The f/1.5 aperture lets in more light to help you capture clearer pictures in low-light conditions. The f/2.4 enhances the image quality in bright environments. In camera tests conducted by DxOMark, the Galaxy S9 Plus outperformed the iPhone X in both photo and video shooting.

In fact, the S9 Plus is the world’s best smartphone camera right no – even better than Google’s Pixel 2, according to DxOMark. The Galaxy S9 Plus is also capable of capturing super slow-mo videos at 960fps and 720p resolution, and 4K videos at 60fps.

The S9 Plus packs a 3500mAh battery, which is enough to last a full day of normal usage. It also has fast charging. The device runs Android Oreo out of the box. It brings Project Treble to ensure the faster rollout of software updates. Gone are the days when Android used to be buggy, chaotic, and less secure. Android Oreo is as good as iOS 11, maybe even better. The S9 Plus runs Snapdragon 845 or Exynos 9810 chips depending on the market. These are the most powerful processors available to Android vendors right now. It also offers 6GB RAM.

The Galaxy S9 Plus comes with Bixby and Google Assistant pre-installed. Bixby isn’t as advanced as Apple’s Siri, but Google Assistant is way ahead of Siri in terms of features and capabilities. The Galaxy S9 Plus offers you everything that iPhone X has at a much lower price. And it has a better camera and other features that you won’t find on the 10th-anniversary iPhone.
