Galaxy Note 9 Appears On Geekbench With SD845, 6GB Of RAM

The alleged Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has just surfaced on Geekbench, following yesterday’s leak which showed off the phone’s design. Having said that, this seems to be a Snapdragon variant of the device, and it comes with the “SM-N960U” model number. Now, the US variant of the Galaxy Note 8 came sporting the “SM-N950U” model number, so the “SM-N960U” definitely seems like its successor.

Now, if you take a look at the listing itself, you will notice that the phone sports 6GB of RAM, while it is fueled by the Snapdragon 845 SoC, which is expected to be its setup in the US. Android 8.1 Oreo is also mentioned in this listing, though Samsung’s custom UI will be included on top of Google’s operating system, of course. This listing dates back to May 9, and according to it, the Galaxy Note 9 managed to score 2,411 points in the single-core benchmark, while the multi-core benchmark results in 8,712 points score. These scores do seem to be rather weak, but do keep in mind that this is probably a pre-production unit of the device, so these scores will go up, way up, by the time the final model arrives. The alleged Exynos-powered Galaxy Note 9 surfaced earlier this month as well, though that ended up being a fake, unlike this one, as it’s listed on Geekbench.

The Galaxy Note 9 probably won’t launch before August, as the company is expected to host one of its “Unpacked” events in August and announce the Galaxy Note 9, prior to IFA. The Galaxy Note 9, if yesterday’s image is to be believed, will resemble its predecessor quite a bit. The phone will sport really thin bezels above and below the display, while an S Pen stylus will be a part of the package yet again, and so will a dedicated Bixby button on the left. The Galaxy Note 9 will probably sport QHD+ display which will be larger than the Galaxy S9 Plus’ panel, while it will also be curved on the sides. The phone will arrive in both Snapdragon 845 and Exynos 9810 variants, while it will also pack in a rather large battery, IP certification for water and dust resistance, and also wireless charging.
