Bank Iowa and the Chickasaw County Farm Bureau, are sponsoring a marketing education program “How to Get $4 Corn” on Monday January 13th, 2020 at the Chickasaw Event Center 301 N. Water Avenue, New Hampton, IA. There will be a meal served beginning at 5:30pm with the program starting at 6:30pm. This workshop provides education on crop marketing decisions with a full 18-month marketing plan: pre-harvest and post-harvest. The workshop, including crop marketing simulation will be delivered by the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation.
“How to get $4 Corn” is a workshop with a market simulation game that explores and teaches three crop marketing steps from pre-harvest to the spring/summer after harvest! The workshop was specifically developed in these tight margin times to help farmers learn and apply the steps to corn and soybean marketing:
You might be surprised to learn that every producer in Iowa had a chance to get $4 cash corn in each of the last five years –when harvest prices stuck as low as $2.80-$3.30. Learn how this was possible by taking the long-view in marketing with a plan with three steps.
