We're well into Fortnite: Battle Royale's Season 4 now, and it's time for another week of challenges to get you your battle stars and inch you closer up to the coveted 100-tier Omega Skin. Or if you're like me and bought the Omega skin, the challenges are there to unlock the even more coveted Blockbuster Skin.
This week is going to be rough, with one challenge, in particular, that's likely to hang me up long after the week is over. Let's take a look:
- Deal damage to opponents with Assault Rifles (0/1000)
- Search Chests in Wailing Woods (0/7)
- Search 7 Ammo Boxes in a single match (0/7)
- Visit the center of different Storm Circles in a single match (0/3)
- Search between a Bench, Ice Cream Truck and Helicopter (0/1)(HARD)
- Trap Eliminations (0/1)(HARD)
- Eliminate opponents in Snobby Shores (0/3)(HARD)
There's only one challenge that asks you to go searching for an object this week: for how to search between a Bench, and Ice Cream Truck and a Helicopter, check here.
Visiting the center of Storm Circles could be a tough one: best to lay low and stay out of trouble. You'll need to make it to three circles in order to complete this one and by that point, things are usually down to less than 20 skilled players. Try to stay towards the center of the first circle so that you need to move as little as possible, but you're best off staying hidden. Squads might be an easier way to do this because enemies are more concentrated, just use "Don't Fill" so you don't end up hamstringing someone else's game.
Other than that, there's one challenge on this list that's sure to jump out at anyone who plays this game a lot but isn't quite streamer/tournament winner-skilled. Trap kills are extremely difficult, and they're even more difficult after Epic nerfed trap damage down to 75, meaning that they will no longer kill a full health, unshielded opponent. Click here for tips on that one, but at least we have six more weeks to try to make it happen.
Wailing Woods is going to be a complete madhouse to the relative paucity of chests and the ensuing rush to open chests there. My advice on that one would be to do your best and land right on top of one in the maze: you're unlikely to get more than one in a match, but you can at least get it done in seven matches. You can also wait until next week when the crowd will have moved on.
Wailing Woods should be a great spot to do some Assault Rifle damage, however: land on the outside, gear up and hunt down all the unarmed treasure hunters as they flee.
Ammo boxes shouldn't be too hard to find: the best advice there is to land far to the action and look on shelves, in corners, and under staircases. Lucky Landing and Flush Factory are sparsely populated and should be good places to start if they're far from the action, but check everywhere and try to stay far away from the path of the bus. Remember: you can keep collecting in the storm so long as you grab 7 ammo boxes before you die.
And finally, we've got Snobby Shores. These challenges are always sort of annoying, but they're made easier by all the other people trying to do the same thing. Try to get a shotgun as quickly as possible and head towards gunfire whenever possible: it means someone else is already in a fight and you can catch them unaware. If you die, know you've helped someone else complete their challenge.
